A waste of time.

This book is a complete waste of time and money. Although the table of contents look interesting, there is nothing in the book that provides information on modern cabinet making. There is no copyright information I could find to date when the book was written, but my guess would be sometime before 1890. Equipment illustrations in the book shows the operation of a pedal powered circular saw and lathe, and that is as modern as you'll find in the book.

A very interesting book for anyone who thrives on the history of woodworking, a fantastic peek into early woodworking!

This is a truly wonderful book and in no way is it aimed at or for the person wishing to improve his skills with ear defening motor driven tools and if that is your way of enjoying woodworking that's fine. But... If you wish to explore the incredibly skilled Furniture makers and cabinetmakers of our past ancestors and study just how efficiently they worked and just love finding out how they used their tools to produce the beautiful objects we still have around today to admire then you will love this book. This book will also help make many power tool lovers a much better woodworker, it's a very interesting book and a great addition to any woodworkers library.
